Hubungan Tingkat Pengetahuan Dan Dukungan Keluarga Dengan Self Management Pada Pasien DM Tipe 2 Di Puskesmas Medokan Ayu Surabaya

Diabetes mellitus type 2 is a common problem that occurs in people who have metabolic disorders characterized by increased blood sugar decreased secretion by pancreatic beta cells or impaired insulin function. This research aims to determine what level of knowledge is associated with self management and family support is associated with self management in type 2 DM patients at the Medokan ayu Health Center. Analytical observational research design, with a cross sectional approach. The data collection tool used in this preliminary study is a questionnaire. The results showed that there was a significant relationship between the level of knowledge and self management with a coefficient value (r= 0,233), and a significant relationship between family support and self manegement with a coefficient value (r=0,316). Patients DM type 2 can be overcome by providing education in every prolanis activity program which is expected to increase knowledge, as well as provide family support in managing stress and provide motivation to patients, so as to improve self- management properly.
